Wind farm ‘would frighten horse’

When we read this one in the Courier, we double checked the date to make sure it wasn't April 1st!

Apparently Lady Hope of Craighead (who?) is opposing a Perthshire wind farm because it would upset her “highly strung” horse and that it would would fill her mount with “fear and anxiety.” Mary Hope who is married to life peer and eminent law lord David Hope also expressed concerns over “financial and emotional losses” the couple may
suffer, but is particularly worried about the impact on her horse Blitz.

Lady Hope insisted Blitz feels “safe and secure” at Craighead but fears that may change if the wind farm is built. “Wind turbines so close to us with their unpredictable movements would fill her with fear and anxiety.

“At any moment Blitz could panic and run out of control,” Lady Hope continued.

Did the reporter that researched this manage to keep a straight face when talking to old lady muck?

So lets see now, the planet is threatened with catastrophic climate change and she is worried about her frigging horse!

She rambled on further saying that she was worried that the wind farm would affect her mobile phone signal.

“There is no fixed line telephone at Craighead,” she told the inquiry. “In this relatively remote place, we are entirely dependent on our mobile phones for access to the outside world.

I bet she would object to a mobile phone mast on her property too - might affect the pond life. Well with an amoeba brain you can't take risks.
