The Laughing Policeman - This one really did eat all the pies and is laughing at the taxpayers expense Double Glazing, Double Standards, Double Dealing, Double Portions Double Chin.

Not only did TAYSIDE CHIEF Constable John Vine have his house fully double glazed at the taxpayers expense last year in the run up to the G8, but the courier now reports that he has run up a bill of £6300 on the force’s corporate credit card during 6 months last year - mainly on meals and hotels.

His spending spree goes from the plush American holiday resort of Miami Beach to Boston and San Francisco not to mention numerous restaurants and hotels in the UK.

According to the Courier, three of the transactions were processed on the same day—£1059.75, £991.50 and £958.64—for a purpose described in the breakdown as “Hotel Miami Beach.” How the hell do you rack up that much in 1 DAY? We guess it's easy when it's not your money that you are spending.

His force have said that all three trips benefited policing in Tayside. Exactly how? We think the only person that benefited from this expenditure is John Vine himself.

Information was discovered using the FOI Act but the force refused to disclose the exact details of where the money had been spent stating that it “would be likely to endanger the physical or mental health or the safety of an individual.”

The only danger to Mr Vines physical or mental health would be the worry of where his next free meal was coming from.

Chief Superintendent Powrie, who co-ordinated policing for the G8 summit, was the next biggest individual card user with spending totalling £5266.44. He even managed to spend £130 on parking at Edinburgh airport. Parking for lesser mortals is £5 per day.

The good news is that credit card transactions were quiet for August during the G8 coverage - that of course is no doubt due to the fact that they were all getting their freebies elsewhere at the tax payers expense - like Gleneagles. Nice work when you can get it.

Never mind Mr Vine, you carry on with your double standards, looks like you are well on your way to earning a triple bypass - also at the taxpayers expense no doubt!!
