Real emails we have received - A real chance for YOU to rant.

One of our regular stalkers (clearly he has nothing better to do) has asked us to publish his email so we are happy to oblige. Mr James Christie of Perth is a regular visitor to the site, but something this week really got his goat! The decline of some businesses in Perth and other problems is nothing to do with us chump, the SNP are managing that very well on their own.

Please Can you enlighten us on the NU situation Mr Christie, along with The Courier, The Perthshire Advertiser and also The Scotsman who have all run this story too, plus also the various councillors and politicians who all seem unsure as to how safe the employees are at Norwich Union. We'd love to have the scoop on this from you.

In my view everybody that threatens the Freedom of Information not only is not welcomed as an MSP or a politician but is also a complete idiot! The Freedom of information is here and is here to stay! Where is your section on Perth City Centre Pedestrian Zone/The Largest Patio in Western Europe with no annual BBQ or weather to celebrate it?

Hi there , Just to let you know that i think that your web site is great keep it up as perthshire needs people like yourself to speak out. What frustrates me most is greedy councilers on there mission to look after themself's and there fellow crooks with there back handers etc. They don't seem to care about the voters and there needs!. for example NHS health care to ninewells and trying to close down the maternity ward at the PRI (no wonder at voting time that polling is at an all time low..........they are all losers!)i could go on and on. Hi Again, I wonder about the sorry state that the roads are in ALL around Perth, As a local business man i drive my car and van in and around Perthshire and have noticed how bad the roads are getting. Serious holes and badly loose patches are all over the place (i do wonder what we pay our road tax for.) What has Perth Council done with the road budget as i rarely come up against road's being repaired! except on the alterations on Glasgow road (funny how everybody else had finished 4 weeks before the council decided to come along to complete their work!) Next time you are out in you car and look at the roads etc and you will see for yourself. I think it could be another good story to look into. Also there are big plans on more one way road's and pedestran areas to be in Perth city center! doesn't the Council not notice that shops are struggling as i have spoken to a lot of shop keepers who have lost alot of trade on the south st johns street and other pedestran areas Except for McEwans mmmmmmmm i wonder what went on there. Glover street is also a disgrace with the stupid traffic calming with trees in the road! (worst thing to hit in a vehicle) and i have seen people drive in to them, and speed up to make the lights, some traffic calming if it makes you speed up! and need i mention bin day and then the road come's to a halt! (they use a 15 tonne truck and there is a 7.5 tonne weight limit on this road, one law for them and one for us!) and before i go what has happened to the South Inch the council has let that place rot! when David Roy ran the Park it was clean and tidy and also a safe enviroment for familys to go now it's full of alcoholics and druggies! Tourists who come to Perth cannot be impressed to come to Perth down the Edinburgh road to look over to a empty fun park boarded and chained up it's all very sad how simple things like this has made a nice place like Perth suffer.the Council have a lot to anwser for Kind Regards Brian

Sadly so many of your comments are true Businesses closing down streets dirty people don't smile How they won the award last year??? I had my business ruined by the council I don't live in Perth any more Why am I still proud to say I belong to Perth I did my bit for The Black Watch I find this sit when I am looking through Visit Scotland and what it does. What has gone wrong with the place.?????

Hi Folks My late father had a number of sayings. One being 'Fortune favours the brave' I believe you may qualify in that category. Good luck, but a little balance in your site would not detract. The Quality Cafe Bistro in Perth North Methven Street - The J.K.Bell Library including the cafe and shop - Foulford Inn at Sma'Glen (free entertaimment on Sunday afternoons seasonal as weather neccessitates. These three are favourites of mine and my disposable income is small. A' the best from Christina.

I would just like to say how delighted I was to read your refreshing take on Perthshire and its local councils. My family and I have, for many years disagreed with Council decisions. Take for example the cycle lane! Has anyone ever actually seen anyone cycling in it?? I think not! We certainly dont see the councillors getting out of as you say their "gas guzzling" motors to cycle down them to promote them! Another example being the amount of taxpayers money spent on the new concert hall. It beggars belief that we have a perfectly good City Hall to service those needs. It is reported that it will be working on a loss for the first 9 years of trading! Hmm wonder who will be paying for that!!! And all this so they can build some flashy new shoppers area at the City Hall, which lets face it will Perth people ever appreciate!! And to build big open air cafes! Is this Perth, Australia we are in?? No! Anyway I am so happy that their is finally someone who has had the nerve to stand up and say something and I fully back you all. My dad has always been very free on his speech regarding councillors and it is good there is other supporters of this. All hail you and keep up the good work. And as for Perth people being unwelcoming I couldnt agree more. If their noses were any further in the air they would be hitting the ceiling!.Regards One very happy reader. Thanks for your reply. I would be happy for my comments to be added to your page. I am quite happy for my name to be added and will continue to visit your site regularlly. Funny how nobody seems to be taking ownership for the small businesses, many of which probably line the big cheeses pockets in some corrupt way! They will unfortunately not discuss it with you because the arguements they have will probably not stand up against your very truthful statments and suspicions. My dad has been a resident in Perth for a large part of his life and has had nothing but bother from the council. They currently live in a 3 bed 2 bathroom bungalow in the Western Edge of the town and are being charged much higher council tax than their next door neighbours who live in a 4 bed 3 bathroom bungalow. This has been going on now for almost 16 years and I find it appaling that they can get away with that sort of behaviour despite many phonecalls from my parents! It is no way to do business and I am sure my parents aren't the only ones. No wonder they have lots of fundings for their flowers!!! As we have always said the PA was wrongly named, correct letters, wrong name. It should stand for Perth Arseholes!! Anyway it is great to finally have a website set up to discuss these thoughts. Hi, Just to say the site is spot on! I live in the city centre, opposite Sportsters tinky nightclub, a source of much drunken fighting, screaming and police riot control outside there and at Mill Street taxi rank. In fact, I might capture some from my window one night, and could contact you and forward it (jpeg) so you could put it on your site!? The Council have a nerve to ask for £145 a year for a parking permit within  "the zone" (yet it's only £45 in Dundee)- yet after 6pm every night the car parks are full of visitors cars, and no spaces can be found.Surely each city centre household should get one free permit, especially as at 7am there are only a couple of cars in the carparks...The council have a bloody cheek.In the last 18 months both my car and my girlfriends have been vandalised- I assume the expensive CCTV must be watching the derelict shops? PS- the place next to Sportsters is vacant and could be put on your boards.. To think I moved from Dundee last April and thought I was moving up in terms of better quality location, eateries and shops! D'oh! Can't even get a decent kebab!!!! I was born here in Perthshire and my two daughters grew up here. They have both moved away now and gone on to further study and have no plans to return as they see no future here. What a waste. Love your site and it's all so true, what the hell is going on here? I'm off too, been offered a job down south. I feel very sad at what is happening to Perth. Good luck.

Hello, I don't generally gripe about everything, but the police seem utterly ineffectual at stopping boy/girl racers using the centre as a race track, the shouting and fighting and screaming that accompany every Thurs-Sun from 11pm-4am due to the council appeasing big business and allowing more of their taste/soul-less "super cattle markets". If I knew how to set up a web site I'd do it- call it something like "PerthNoGoZoneAfterDark" or something along them lines,- include photos and footage of what the councillors and police seem unwilling to acknowledge really goes on. Presumably because the carnage that happens won't affect their lives away from the centre! BC

And one more thing, The Concert Hall is the most hideous thing I have ever seen. It doesnt fit in with the architecture of Perth, It looks stupid, It will probably never actually make much profit and it has taken away a very good car park in Perth! Considering what a beautiful building The City Hall is it seems such a waste
