Our commiserations go to the punters who lined up ready for the off for the Horse of the Year Show at the new Perth Concert Hall on New Years Eve.
Cramped into the stalls then having to jockey for position to pay through the nosebag with prices through the stable roof – not so much of a steeple chase as a steep chase! Neigh never again will they be taken for a ride. A grand national cock up with no gold cup prizes awarded here.
Never mind the bookings, get down to the bookies because a gallop poll show’s that this one’s odds on to FAIL!!
Councillor Colin Young fears the “people and businesses of Perth” will eventually lose out if the Hogmanay debate is allowed to rumble on much longer.
Too late Mr Young, taxpayers already have lost out - saddled with a bill of some £20m.
If you think this white elephant will save Perthshires flagging tourist trade it’s a case of closing the stable door after the horse has bolted.
